Our Deluxe Old Club Staunton has been a classic for years and has become a standard that nearly every chess set manufacturer attempts to copy and is sold under a variety of other names. The king is 3.75" tall and has a large formee cross while the queen's crown is turned to the perfect thickness and has 9 sharp points. The bishop has a large round miter that is unique to this set. The knight is stout and heavy with just the simplest of detail producing the classic look that distinguishes this set from the others. Pieces are heavily weighted for stability while billiard cloth pads give the pieces a soft feel and easy to slide across the chess board. The Deluxe Old Club is an all round terrific set for the casual game at home or club and tournament games.
